In 2000, Dr. Martinez opened Vision Care Center of Idaho to provide leading edge dedicated eye surgery care to Treasure Valley residents. This facility was designed and built to do only one thing – eye surgery. Everything from its floor plan to ventilation and air filtration as well as climate controls was designed to enable the highest caliber, controlled and reproducible eye surgery possible today. It is equipped with the most advanced technology for cataract surgery, laser vision correction and other laser surgery available in the world. The facility is Medicare certified as well as certified by the prestigious Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). It is staffed by a veteran eye surgery team that has worked together as a team in some circumstances for as long as 26 years uninterrupted. We do not have the expensive overhead and crippling bureaucracy of a hospital, thus allowing us to keep our costs low while maintaining absolute control over quality, equipment and personnel. Hence our facility fees are only about half of those charged by hospitals. Because of our efficiency you can typically expect to arrive at the facility, undergo your procedure and depart the facility in under two hours.
Cataract Surgery/Glaucoma Surgery
Drs. Martinez and Ostler perform no needle, no stitch, no patch cataract surgery using the safest form of cataract surgery today. They also specialize in glaucoma surgeries with the latest and safest techniques for all stages of glaucoma. Patients are monitored during their surgery by a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to ensure comfort and safety during these brief procedures. We have performed many thousands of these procedures ensuring patients the extensive experience necessary to achieve excellent outcomes.
Laser Surgery
A state of the art YAG laser is housed at Vision Care Center and used to treat after cataracts in a very quick and effective procedure that enables patients to return to their routine the very same day.
